Some cars run a pink coolant. So, it might be nothing. If your car however isn't designed to run it, it could breakdown your coolant system. Flush it out, run the green stuff at 50/50 mix and go from there. Check your oil. If your oil has a chocolate milk color to it, you've got a blown head gasket. Or if you see like specs of brown in your oil... there's a problem there too. My honest .02 is that whoever had it before you did, put the pink antifreeze in it.

Not always. My sisters Cavilier uses the pink.
inis
chevy is pink , if you took it to jiffy lube maybe mike cleaned your oil stick in your coolant tank (sarcasim) , change your oil and your coolant, then change your coolant again in 2 weeks to see what the fluid looks like then, that will tell you whats going on.

True story. And since Dan's sister is unbelivably hot, I am of the opinion that all cars should run pink antifreeze.

last time we had a zx2 come into jiffy when i worked there it took the glycol, the green stuff. pink is toyota.

here's how it works:
* there is the green stuff (glycol), then there is the orange stuff, (dex-cool)
* the automotive companies sometimes use a color pigment in their radiator fluid....so basically there's only glycol and dex-cool....
* the zx2 uses of course the glycol

just a side note...also as you indicated inis...chevrolet has changed over to mainly dex-cool at least in their newer vehicles, however so has dodge as well.

you cannot always go by the color of the coolant, i'd recommend testing the coolant to see if it tests safe. I also would most likely suggest the radiator flush.

As i believe inis suggested about checking beneath the oil cap, if you see some sludge build-up i'd recommend an engine flush which can be done a few different ways.

by the way, I to used to work at jiffy lube.

If you have any questions or concerns just ask me, glad to help however I can.

I used to work at jiffy lube to, I don't remember any Ford using pink crap. I've seen both Chevy and Toyota use it.

You know in Japan most of the Chevy vehicles say Toyota in thier titles.
