Me and a buddy were goofing around on the way home from work and we "accidently" went 105 mph.....Is that where the speed limiter is on a zx2 with automatic?

any zx2 except the s/r's . Its usaully around 105-107
There is a wire you can put a flip switch on to go pass this (interested?) but if you keep it open it throws a Check Engine Light (thus reason of flip switch) or other option is chip burning, do you have that pcm installed by justin? it should have no gov, unless you got ripped

Do not cut the governor wire in an automatic. It will not shift properly afterwards. It's a perfectly fine mod to do in a manual, but pleease not in the auto.

If anyone should know what mods to not do to an auto ... it's me

what do you have to do in an auto to disable the governor? I'm not doing it , just wondering.

I think it's more of a gentlemen's agreement between the Big 3. Imports don't have them until higher speeds, 120+

also I agree with everyone else, the mod is great for a manual....but I do not really see the point in a automatic. no offense, it's just how often are you really going to get that much of open space to safely get above 107mph, like I said, I am not trying to put you down, I just realize they are a little bit slower than the manual zx2's.

I hit about 115 in my Elantra. Of course, that was downhill, and somebody was pushing me, but that is beside the point.

my stock s/r with 17's and scorcher t/a's (when I had them) I topped it at 145 with 3 ppl in the car. I also have it on camcorder but I do not own the tape so its not in my possesion.
Yes I was young and stupid once, just like alot of us. So I dont need a lexture for my actions. I rarely take my car above 3rd gear anymore, matter of fact I can't do anything but the speed limit because I'm on 6 months of probation for a ticket I got in july.

I've had my ZX2 to 115, it's on cam (racing a Civic). Going uphill, and it was still gaining speed I was on my 185's though, and one had a nail in it ... so I didn't stay there very long ...

Where can I get a chip for my ZX2? I've been looking for one for a while but haven't had any luck. It's an automatic by the way.

I'm pretty sure I got my automatic ZX2 up to 115 once. I can't say for certain, my eyes weren't glued to the speedo. But unless you've hammered it from almost a stop, they usually do start to struggle around 110 in my experience.

If you're looking to stay low on cost, go for the EMA0 PCM, and put the POTS mod on it. I can do a writeup (I'm due for another one, anyway) if you need it. As for a chip, you can try either Diablosport, or Superchips. They will get you good, generic bolt-on performance. To go past that, try SCT, MegaSquirt, or beyond. None will do much more than the basic chips, until you have several mods on the car.

To make the automatic faster, try Level 10. They sell performance upgrades to various parts in automatic transaxles. Or, you could follow the rest of the crowd and swap to an MTX. Nobody wants to be different and go the faster automatic route

I believe him, I think your auto was just crappy Bryan, I've seen auto's go well over 100 with basic to no mods.

My auto went over 100. Paul's auto goes over 100. The difference is that they both stopped at 107mph. I'd much sooner believe the speedo was off rather than he was actually moving 115mph.

All stock (non S/R, and non-chipped) ZX2's will stop at 107mph, which is approximately 220 revolutions per second of the speedometer gear.

The fact that his car shifts out of gears is a good indication.

I checked out the sites, most of them didn't even list ZX2 as an option, or let you buy them online. One listed escort but i don't even think they have all the same stuff. I didn't search for hours, if you know where it is or how I can buy one that would be cool. Thanks.
