Well.. i have an automatic, an intake, muffler, and a X-2 SCT and UDP comming. What should it be. I plan on doing more things down the road... including a new tranny when my warranty expires which is roughly 1.5yrs from now. My car sucks off the start anyway... is the 2.25 really worth the low end since i can't launch or should i just open it up to 2.5" allowing for plenty of highend horsepower. hmmmmmmmm.....

I personally think you'll have the best luck on 2.25", or even a well-bent 2.0" tube.
Your ATX won't handle the top-end of the 2.5" well, without you Level-10'ing it.

unless you plan to turbo the car in a year and a half then definitely go 2.25... and even if you were going to, why suffer with 2.5 for a year and a half...
there is no suffering. You would lose all of 1hp down low and gain it back up top. I am convinced that exhaust size does not matter that much on this car as many many people have came up with simliar numbers on different cars with the same mods except the exhaust is different
Anyway get what you want. I have 2.25" for whatever reason...

I agree, I do not believe exhaust matters that much on this car. I think doing a header and leaving the rest of the piping is fine.

to be honest, if you get a header and use stock piping plus maybe a glasspack, or just stock exhaust totally. It would probally still sound decent. Change the stock piping and you'll have alot of road noise.

Basically just a straight through muffler without a whole lot of muffling lol or restriction. They do sound pretty nice usually.

Its a resenator with a straight through tube w/baffles in it, behind the baffles its filled with fiberglass. Makes great sound.

arden, a glasspack is what I use for an exhaust silencer.
It doesn't work too well.

I use a dynomax race magnum for a resonator/silencer on my neon. It is about wore out now, but it has a pretty low tone to it.
