Problem # 1 - radiator has boubles of fluid in it.

Problem # 2 - When car shifts to 3rd ATX car races RPMS max out. and wants to shut off!

There are also several other problems that Im not sure of my Gf's best friend's neon is having problems It could be a blowen head gasket or the head its self but if anyone could help me figure this out that would be awesome! Thanks guys.

Prob #1 bubbles of what kind of fluid? If its oil it is head related if its tranny fluid time for a new radiator.

Prob #2 Depending on your answer to number one, it could be low on tranny fluid or a bad tranny.

If it needs a new atx depending on what year the car is I think I have one in the garage for 50 bucks.

where is it bubbling from? unless there is a line leaking, your radiator fluid is always hot after driving, and sometimes will be almost boiling if your running the piss out of your car
Godzilla
if it is bubbling antifreeze, is the car overheating?
Matt
Yes the car tends to over heat. It is bubbleing antifreeze in the radiator! SHIT MAN.

I dont even know if she cares about it anymore!

Matt
Godzilla
Calm down Matt, I am just trying to help. If it is overheating it is most likely the head gasket. I am asking questions to make sure I diagnose to the best of my ability. If you don't want me to ask questions include as much info as possible.
arden
i may be wrong but isnt antifreeze part of your radiator coolant? it all flows through the block to heat and the antifreeze keeps the fluid from freezing in cold condtions . . .
Matt
shouldnt it be blowing out blue smoke out the tail pipe if the head gasket is blown?? Or is that for a crack in the head??

They don't always blow smoke when the head gasket goes, by the way for future reference

blue smoke---oil related
black smoke--fuel related
white smoke--water or cooling system related
Blue98R/T
Green Smoke = Put the bong down!

Depends on how you treat them. ;)

Sounds to me like you might be leaking tranny fluid in your coolant. The auto tranny lines run into the side of your radiator to cool the fluid. If the wall inside breaks down, you'll be mixing the two. This isn't good at all. Get a new radiator pronto and flush the tranny and refill. See if that fixes it. IF THIS IS WHAT'S WRONG, DON'T DRIVE IT UNTIL YOU FIX IT!!!! Tranny fluid isn't good for keeping engines cool and coolant isn't good in valve bodies. A radiator is alot cheaper than replacing the trans and engine.

mine was doin the same thing but it was a 5 speed>.
