Anybody been doing anything to their cars lately? I got the bug again and am slowly working on GII. I would really like to see a complete drivetrain swap on this thing done by the end of summer.

I'm working on my car...we've taken out the transmission, and next week I'm hoping we get the other transmission in, along with my new clutch and flywheel. Also since it was down, I fixed my coilovers and had the perches cut so that I have the ability to drop my car 4".

nice, I am hoping to get the 5 spd swapped into mine by the end of february. I will then start on the motor build up.
I need to get a new alt for the daily, dyno tune the daily, and finish the daily's system. Then eventually I need to install a new trans with a lsd and new axles too but thats later.
After winter I plan to build my spare block and bolt it into my project car. Then start plumbing some stuff up. While the block is being built I ma having the unibody sent out for some structural work. After that is a whole lot of fabbing

Cancelled my warrenty  I plan to setup some of my intercooler piping and mount my intercooler on sunday as well as mount the manifold w/ turbo and wastegate to make sure everything will clear ok. I am not sure how big my new turbo will be but I should be able to get a good general idea by mounting my T3 up. All of this is most of the work of an install, so having that done and out of the way will be nice. I need to take my spare windage stray to a metal shop and have it tapped for my oil return. The only things I really have left to buy are: SS oil and coolant lines for the turbo, manual boost controller, my new turbo, new oil and fuel pumps and I think thats it. I might change to a diff BOV but other than that I will plan on doing the install on March 26th and tuning the following day. This should give me plenty of extra space in case something comes up to still be able to afford parts and what not but still be able to pay my bills.

well add a transmission to my soon list. I am not sure whats wrong but I think its the clutch again. I am going to try to find a spare tranny, clutch and flywheel in the next couple days in case the car lets go. right now it just bucks unbearably above 2K in first with clutch engaged fully so i have to press the clutch a little bit to keep the bucking down enough to get it to 2nd gear. 2nd gear is beginning to do it mildly as well but its only in the beginning of the gear then smooths out and all other gears are fine. Since there are no noises and nothing seems actually broken, I am leaning towards the clutch being at fault somehow

My dad and I are working on the zx2 we got for free. He desided to keep it. We are putting a 5spd in it and fixing the front end and then we'll have the lowering springs put in and exhaughts will be done by march.

sounds like a torquey motor and/or broken mounts.

well in an unbelievable lucky moment for me it was not drivetrain related. josh rode along with me today and we both began to lean towards motor related problems and/or general tuneup stuff. the car was sputtering down low like it was trying to die. also, it became apparent that if the clutch was actually slipping then feathering the clutch would further worsen the slipping. long story short, my intake had come out of the TB coupler a small bit and was allowing air to enter the engine that was not accounted for and causing me to run really lean which would of course explain the power loss and car sputtering to run in the low rpms. so im super happy. now i am going to baby the crap out of my car until the turbo goes in, which at that point i will be upgrading the clutch, flywheel and maybe the trans itself

no one is going to steal your rims matt lol. just get some tuner lugs that require a key of some sort. like gorilla lugs. how many people are walking around with one of those in their pocket? the rims looked good on sams car so they should look sick on your car. just be careful what tires you put on so they dont rub, and be ready to be slower lol. you also have that valve cover underway so that is something else you will have on the car :)
as for myself, once i get done helping my friends out I can work on my stuff. we are fixing brads car today to finish it, need a few misc bolts and nuts from the yard to finish her up. I can start on my piping first then my oil and coolant lines when i test fit the turbo to an assembled motor to check clearances and all that at joshs dads house on his spare motor. then in a few weeks when i am back on my feet financially i can order the rest of the parts i need and test fit the new radiator and get hoses made for that, and lastly i will need a few things welded by our metal guru Godzilla (which I still need to get in touch with you about :)

My car is now driveable once again, the clutch/flywheel install is finally over. Only a few kinks to work out, then all will be good.
Yay so my thermostat went bad but in the cold way. It stuck open. It didnt go much higher than the C mark. Replaced it yesterday
Um alt is still taking a crap. But I am working on getting one lol.
Things to do:
pcv
fuel filter
upper fuel line(crimped a little, long story, pisses me off)
serp belt
change oil shortly
change fluids
then dyno
Other stuff
rear discs
5th gear change
lsd
finish my audio setup
then on to my other car
