Full Version: Sell My Sole To Mazda?
KcTuners > General > The Donut Shop
inis
So, I beg Melissa about every 4 hrs for the last 3 months to get a mazdaspeed 3. At first it was no, then it was we can wait til we're into the house alittle longer and look into a used one if we can find one. Now its if I sell my s/r, dont get another spare car, and sell my lx-e and can afford the car payment without throwing off our bills, I can have one.

So should I sell my sole to mazda or wait it out to see what happens to them and for a used one?

I love my s/r but its getting old, its alot of work, and newer cars are whipping my ass stock. I could part out my s/r for more then its worth to compensate for the cost the lack of value.

Heads up it made me vote 3 times

Anyway.

I believe you should wait, keep your sr anyway cuz its the shit...and stop talking cuz you will have kids and it will all be over anyhow.

And if you sell your sr contact me first bastard

Yeah bro you'll be spending more money on new curtains and carpets for the woman than your car parts ;)
street_tuner87

id say sell everything and go for that mazda, get it before everyone gets them. and start trickin it out :) as for the SRT-4 i would have to agree hehehe

4 banger disi > any other 4 banger

mazdaspeed's disi motor is so bad ass, it can run as lean as 60 to 1 , has a forged crank, rods and makes 270 crank hp at 14 psi, whats dodge doing agian? ms3 will catch up with dodge just takes time to get aftermarket going just like any new car...
Blue98R/T
I am going to have to agree, get a SRT-4, okay so I am partial!
inis
mazda's motor blows srt4's out of the water, give it time... it will be provened (i hope)
Blue98R/T
What motor, the Mazdaspeed 3? Stock for stock srt blows it out of the water, if you are talking add aftermarket, you could do the same for the SRT and boost its performance as well, not really an even comparison as they sit.

Nope, the new MazdaSpeed 3 has ~ 14lbs of boost stock on 9.5:1 compression. It's rated "250hp" for insurance, and will dyno well over it after driving it off the showroom floor.

It's also not a Dodge, which means it wins by default ;)

What kinda ETs are these little Mazda pocket rockets laying down? Jarred I am way happier now that I have a decent driver (ZX2) and a project (Neon)
inis
bryan : 9.8.1

paul 268 whp and 278 tq

there dyno'ing around 245's (3's are fwd)
and ms6 (awd) are laying 230's down

2.3 ltr

it can run that boost and cr because the injector is on the combustion chamber and cools the charge 40%+ as it enters the chamber. Less detonation and more boost!

the problems there running across is tuning and hacking the stock pcm.
ATP turbo already makes a kit for it gt35 and 20lbs of boost gets you 300-350whp with stock pcm

all the torq is availible at 1800rpms and along with full boost.

ms3 is godsend

They saying the MS3 runs 0-60 in 6.1 while srt-4 runs 0-60 in 5.8 wonder what the weight of the MS3 is??

where are you seeing 6.1? i've seen all test under 6 , lowest I've seen was 5.6 and highest I've seen is 5.9

official hp is 263 and 280lbs of tq

1st , 2nd are boost limited with 3rd 4th and 5th being full boost.

speed limited to 155 (and yes its been tested to that and has said to pull completely to it and felt like it had more)

1/4 = 14.1 at 100mph

weight per edmunds is 3,060

154 lbs lighter then the gti and 64 hp and 74lb of torq more then the vw

according to edmunds here is the link

says 6.1 but who knows. i read also that they had to tune down the engine cause it is FWD to 250hp, the MS6 is 270 since it's running AWD, no idea was just reading around. the MS3 is almost 200lbs heavier then the srt-4, which i saw the srt-4 weighed in at 2880. I wonder what the times would be like with the srt-4 boost the same HP as the MS3 which can be done pretty easily with a stage 2 upgrade on the srt-4. I think the price tag on the MS3 is kinda hefty in my opinion.

Nope..
0-60 times and 1/4 mile
More like 5.3 seconds....

What kind of Mazda 3? The one they have listed goes 0-60 in 8 seconds. (must be the base one) Theres an SRT-4 out there that puts out 770whp.

I want to learn more about these Mazda's a bit more, I really like the looks of them.. How much are they?
inis
770 was not the on the stock motor either, highest I've seen is 630 on the stock motor but it blew really quick ....

stock motor can take 500hp on srt-4. the MS3 has a hefty price tag on it starting around $25,000

Yes: The MS3 is one of Car and Driver's 10 best cars of 2007: C and D MS3 linky I trust their judgement.
Yes: You've been a fan of high performance FWD cars for a while, so it isn't a big adjustment. (Other than it is a brand new car and factory fresh.)
Yes: The "Regular" 3 did very well in this comparo: C and D small family car comparison test

No: New cars are horrible investments.
No: You've been tinkering with cars for a long time. If you really tinker with the MS3 - the warranty will be null and void. Are you going to live with little to no car tinkering (and only do house tinkering or tinker with someones else's tinker - I mean CAR?) <lol>
No: I bet your insurance will go up. As will the property tax on the car.

I don't know what Melissa drives, but the MS3 with its 5 doors is very convenient. What will your "family fleet" look like if you make a move? (Will Melissa want to drive the MS3 all the time? - remember it will be a nice shiny new-smelling car. Chicks dig that!)

What do you really want? Is there any chance of having a project car down the road so you can tinker with your own stuff? Will you have time to car tinker?

There aren't many used ones on cars.com. This red one is in Hickory, NC - has 350 miles (Demo?) and is listed at $22,835. Cars.com linky

After 2 autocrosses in a Mazda product (with published results), you can get a discount ("S plan") on new cars - no haggle. Some employers also qualify. So you might ask at work if you are eligible for "fleet" or "employee" pricing.

Semi-related factoid - The MazdaSpeed6 4 door sedan (turbo/manual) hasn't sold as well as Mazda would have liked. My neighbor bought a new MS6 from an Atlanta dealer in the low $20s. So if you can wait until the end of the summer, there is a chance a new MS3 might be bargain priced.

Ahh, forget all that crap I just posted. It boils down to one simple question:

Do you want to Zoom-Zoom?

inis
the ms3 actaully retails for 23xxx, but with all the hype there going for alot more, the ms6's however didn't do so good, personally I dont trust awd and high hp/tq

My work does give discounts but mazda will refuse it on the ms3 because they can get what they want out of them else where

I'd rather have a used one with a warraunty then a new one, I bought the zx2 new and had horrible experience with ford.

As for insurance, I'm already in a low rate, but I'd probally get seasonal insurance on it with low miles and just park it in the garage and hump the bumper every now and then.

Melissa drives a 4 door ls malibu (2000)

she wont drive a stick (refuses, ive got her in my car a couple of times though but she doesn't like the amount of power it has ..says its to much ..ha )

i'll wait to see how low they go used... i guess, but im turbo'ing my zx2 then and going to go ahead and turn it into a full project car...
