Im swapping the MSP LSD into my zx2 and I ran across a problem. I cant get the vehicle speed gear to seat on the LSD. I was wondering if I had to machine the LSD down so it fits properly or can the plastic gear be modified to fit?

you have a stock msp lsd? the gear should go on it and seem sorta loose. Take some pics, post em or if you dont have hosting mail em to me and I'll host em.

yeah the gear fits loosely on it. You can tell its supposed to go down farther so it "locks" in and wont wobble around. Cant get pics sorry, its at the machine shop waiting for the bearings to be pressed on once I figure this out

we ended up chamfering the inside of the speed gear just enough so it would slide down.

I looked into it some more, ppl are machining down the lsd or shaving the gear...both have been proven methods.

how much is all this costing you? i had no clue you could do this procedure.

$600 in parts, do the labor yourself. Now I just need to find some nuts and bolts to secure the diff to the ring gear.

no axles yet, i wanted to make sure the diff fit before I chucked out that kind of change for a "maybe"

yep fits just fine, on the quaife you have to shave down the shift gate some. But ya casing wise it bolts right on in. Once I'm totally done I'll take pics and do a write up ..very detailed.

also btw if you want a discount on axles let me know, where do you live btw?
jdrzx2
send me a pm on how this whole thing works, i think i might do this. i'd just like to know how before i try to start something like it.

What did you use to bolt the diff to the ring gear? I cant find anything that will clear the tranny housing. After comparing the 2 ring gears they ended up being the same so I shouldnt of separated it, oh well.

I still need to get my axles. I was going to go through zxtuner but rob never responds to my e-mails and I figure it will take forever for them to get made. If you can get me some axles im all for it, especially at a discount. I live in Ohio btw.
