Howdy does anyone know how to make a low impedence injector driver box to enable me to run low impedence injector's on an AEM EMS without buying there $400.00 box I've seen a couple on the web where they've built there own for like $50.00 of equipment but I haven't really found how to put one together
thanks geek.gif

sorry computer had a hiccup I guess this thread needs deleted...

What impedance is "low"? How many milliseconds does it need to take?

I can probably build you one for $50, I'll need to know specs first.

1.2-2 is what I believe low impedance injectors run at

from what I've found online the Siemens 72# injectors are 2.8 ohms and the AEM controller has a max of 1.5 amps for the injector drivers so I'd need like a pack of 8 9 ohm resistors to make this work or buy one of the aftermarket controllers
I have no idea where to buy resistors or assemble them into a working product :-P

also I have no idea what the pulse width will be at this time.

can I just buy 8 of these resistors from radio shack and mount them on a sheet of aluminum or something?

Radio Shack resistor

No, they're low impedance because the coil structure is different. If you current limit them elsewhere in the system, they won't have the same oomph needed.
