Ok guys, thinking about getting springs for my car, but I want some input so I know what I'm looking into. Wanting to know if lowering the car is gonna mess anything up, like the tranny or drive shafts, also if I can use stock struts or if it's ABSOLUTELY necessary to go with after market struts. Let me know guys! right now I'm looking at the Eibach pros and H&R springs bout a 1 to 1.5 inch drop....

i dont think that they will affect anything. wouldnt know why they would really. i dont know about the h&r springs but i personally have the Eibach pros and i dont have anythig o complain about. However ive got the springs on Koni yellows...all in all they made a very big improvment compared to stock. My suggestionis that it is not Absolutely nessary to get struts but if you want the performance side to lowering then deff get them. if just for looks then no. it will be bumpier/rougher ride without.

tell me about those struts you got to go with the eibachs, what brand and how much do they run?

You can run stock struts with lowering springs, but they will eventually wear out. The farther the drop and the harder you drive both contribute to how soon they die.

lowering to much can pre-mature wear parts: Axles, lower ball joints, tie rod ends, tires, steering bushings
Wheel bearings can pre-maturely wear with any change in springs other then OEM rated ones.
Since I have dropped my car I have ruined both lower ball joints (a given considering I slammed it), and my tie rod ends are coming soon
I believe mx3s can use the tokicos from the zx2 sr. They are pretty cheap and very effective. H&Rs are great performance spring. I myself have eibachs and I love them
