Sub's motor is a 2003 Resonant Engineering SE
Basket is a rare basket known as a claw. Very rare, had to buy 2 in order to get the one
parts are from Fi Car Audio. The owner Scott Atwell designed all of RE's subs and used to own have of RE/Resonant Engineering before they sold to US Amps. Meaning he still has specs on the subs.
This specific moving assembly was built to special specs known as SEXXX. It is a SE-XXX due to it using the Resonant XXX coil and double stiff spiders. Increasing it's wattage to around 1200rms from 600. With this upgrade it not only will hold more power, but it will also sound better and get way louder.
Dual 2ohm flat wound copper coil, Dual stiff spiders, 15" cone and surround, new 8 gauge push terminals
I am going to be ordering the glue tomorow to do the job. I will post pics of the build then

That's a huge coil ... should sound awesome :)
Hope so. It is supposed to be very accurate and play very low.
I believe I am going to build a box with a tunable port. I am going to meter it once on a 32hz tone with it tuned to 28hz and once on a 60hz tone with it tuned to 45hz. We will see what kind of numbers it can pull out.
There is a Audio control meter down the road from my work that I can get metered on. So I will have to give it a try.
Going to run it at about 500rms daily and 1500rms for burps/tones

Well the motor you can pick up normally for around 80-100 bucks
The basket that I am using is around 30-50 bucks
the softparts(cone, surround, coil, spiders, tensils, and dustcap) cost on average about 80-180 pending what parts you use.
I personally got the motor for 25 shipped
I got 2 of the baskets for 50 shipped, only needed one but they are too rare to seperate
and the softparts were 90 shipped
Glue is like 10 bucks
From the place I got the softparts they also sent me a t shirt, stickers, bolts to hold the basket to the motor, and speaker terminals for the basket for free
So total build cost is 175.
The new SE 15 sells for right around 300. And this is the upgraded SExxx ;)

Motors and rare baskets you pretty much have to troll audio forums and ebay.
cones, coils, formers, surrounds, etc can all be bought seperate but if you want a kit like the one pictured you have to contact any number of sub manufacturers. ReAudio, FiCarAudio, TcSounds, DigitalDesigns, etc.
Those places pretty much won't do a sub that isn't a standard american 3" voicecoil though. Stuff like japanese, chinese, bulk made subwoofers will not be able to be reconed by them. Like kicker, alpine, pioneer, sony, rockford, etc

My fancy glue came
I started stripping the basket today. Bought automotive paint stripper. It literally is peeling the paint off. It's amazing.
Basket will be getting painted tomorow.
Final assembly with glue will be done this weekend. B)
A how-to with pics will follow after for anyone interested

Just an update...there are no updates. I have been busy and my basket sits unfinished still
I have a line on 3 more motors which would make disgusting 8s. As in the motor is the same diameter as the basket and take a 2.5" coil. Not sure if I want to invest the money and not use them though being that I will be using my 15
May pick one up and build it for the project whip

I remember when hollywood sound labs was using the "dragon claw" basket there on the Excursion subwoofers.
