I did ask for a tracking number today, I replied to him last night asking if all the misc parts are in it also (cgi main caps, studs and oil squirters) He relied and said its all taped inside one of the cylinders . I replied asking tracking.

He also said its in a box, multiple layers of cardboard, and inside that is a ton of peanuts. He said he paid UPS to package it.

Good. They should do a great job packing it. The tracking number is the key ingredient though. :)

Welps the car is in the garage thawing out, I also cleaned it up some out there...and made more room (swung the front end of the 55 towards the wall...I can always move it back later) I have a good 3 feet walking around it, and about 5+ in front of the car.... should be more then enough.
inis
got tracking info, says its still on for the 24th. Wonder if it needs a sig. I'm gonna call UPS tomorrow to see if it does..cause if so..no one will be home and I can just have Melissa get it while she's at work or leave a note hoping the driver will call me and I can find him...
MyNeonSaysHi
Awesome! Now let the fun and headaches begin! =)
inis
Yep, but it will be exciting... you know you'll be joining me on half the shit I do to the car devil.gif
CJW
woohoo!
ScreetHoPrez
You can leave a note on the door authorizing UPS to leave all packages and then sign it. I've done it many times.
MyNeonSaysHi
I am ready for the Zx2 transformation.

Doesn't hot tank remove the paint? CGI are textured compared to the powder coated stock blocks.

Ok guys, I've put myself in a rut. Because its winter, the bills (f'ing propane) have been higher at the house. On top of that I keep getting these dam misc bills in the mail...that are just killing me..and adding up. I will have to put off sending the block out for atleast 4 weeks (two paychecks) . I like having a savings, but I can't have it, pay the bills and put godly amounts into this motor build. So I have to pause something.
I will continue it then... but in the mean time I will still work on the car some, pull the motor this sat..and work with what I have.
I also need other things to do this, some tools, I want a kerosene/diesel heater for the garage... so this is probally the smartest thing to do. I know I'm as anxious as all of you... ninja.gif
CJW
just keep us updated bro
inis
Ya well propane, invest into it...cause I've bought shitloads of it lol . I did the math, to heat the house the month of Dec 1 to date, Its cost like 400.00 some dollars :(

We're also looking into refinancing the house, we can get a point lower now cause the market. It would lower the house payment 70.00 a month. We pay over now, and probally pay the same... thats 70.00 more towards paying this thing off before i'm 90
CJW
haha yea. Hopefully I can buy a house this year. I have a decent down payment for it and a lot of my area offers grants to first time buyers if you own the house for 5 years.
MyNeonSaysHi
Thats smart that you are putting it off for a while. If you need help with the motor pull this saturday, let me know.

Not sure on the hot tank and your particular block. Never heard of a CGI block before. I just know in my engine repair class everyone would throw their block in the hot tank for an hour. Then took it outside and used a high pressure washer and hosed it down. Then immediatley air it off with an air hose to get rid of all the water. Thats what we were instructed to do anyways. I still have all my shit from school that would be helpful.

Ya come over tomorrow. I plan to be up and out in the garage around 10am , if not sooner.

CGI block info:

http://bbs.hardcore50.com/vbulletin/showth...Iron+Dart+block

was going to copy and paste certain post...but that was to much.... just start reading.

BTW cgi is new to most of these ppl. In the zetec world... its been around for probally 10 yrs or so.
MyNeonSaysHi
After reading all that. It looks like you have a great block on your hands. Compacted Graphite. Never heard of that before. You think it will cost more at the machine shop since yours is unique and not a regular iron block? Cool I will be around 11ish and give yah a call. :)
inis
garage is cold, take your time. Trying to heat it up right now... I think its colder then it is outside unsure.gif
MyNeonSaysHi
Had a great time. Boggles my mind we got that engine out so quickly. :D
inis
Ya I bet the srt4 motor takes a bit longer... seems bigger, and less engine bay
CJW
I wish I had the moneys for a CGI block. Or the money to build one right. :-(

Well...I wish I had the money to get that and still save for a house I should say

lm-1 , lma-2 , and the xd-16 gauge
MyNeonSaysHi
Looks really good! Very skinny gauge indeed. That first picture reminds me of the old Game Boys. lol

We are going to have to test it out on my car sometime.
CJW
Wow. I had no idea they'd be that skinny
