I have the car stripped to the unibody from the A pillars forward.

My buddy John has been helping me remove every part and catalog every nut and bolt as it came out. We have them in ziplocks with labels on them per component.

Overall it is a royal pain in the ass but I will be happy once it is done. A pillars forward under the hood, in the wiper motor area, and under the fenders will all be gloss black. I don't suggest this project for anyone who is on a schedule or gets upset easily. And I will never do this again or help any of my friends(except John) if they decide to do this as well even if they paid me for my time....And John has already told me he wouldn't because of mine teehee.gif

This weekend I plan to start cleaning, roughing, and priming the engine bay.

Other news. I got word from my buddy that if I order through him I can get 5.5 gallons(3 will do my whole car) of eDead v3 liquid sound deadener and 30sq ft of eDead v4 teklite(ensolate type deadening, goes on top of other deadening to block road noise and such) for just under 300 shipped/picked up. thumbsup.gif

Good luck, you can paint my engine bay if you'd like.

That is the hole I am working in currently. In the next couple of weeks I plan to finish taking things off, cleaning, and painting from the pillars forward.

rusty, but I guess it could be worse.

poor zx2's are getting old.
CJW
Yea the control arms and brackets are rusty. The body is in great shape though. The control arms and everything are being stripped, cleaned, and painted gloss black with lots of clear.
inis
why not powdercoat them, by the time you do all that painting, it would have been easier.

I'd atleast powder coat the arms
CJW
I might. Depends on what all else I go to have powder coated at the same time. There is a place in PA I would drop a bulk load off at if that's the case. I need to see ift hey will clean the parts or if I need to though

I'm glad some of us have the dedication and patience to do that, I don't think I do.

Yea it's tough. I haven't been able to work on it at all between work and hanging gutter at my church. And this weekend I am going to the mountains.

I got a 2003 front bumper in the mail though. And I am picking up another fidanza flywheel and a spec stage 2 clutch :-)
