does any one have a hand held jig saw, or some thing small that can cut sheet metal in a somewhat small space. say like a rear deck.

use your new dremel. Get a diamond blade and make sure you wear glasses.

i just tried that and it isnt working at all with the curve of the cut i need to make.

what are you cutting on the rear deck? you know that is a structural support right?

yes. i am only cutting a 1/4 in off the rim of the stock 5x7 speaker holes so that my new 6x9 will fit.
