That stinks. Do you need a car right now though? You will be gone almost a full year. Couldn't you sell it and buy a better car when you get back? Then use the money you get from the car towards bills or whatever.

public storage places are like 30 a month to store a car... call around

i really should only be gone about 4-6 months, if basic and A-school are back to back that is.

How many family members do you have? Try your cousins, aunts , uncles, grandparents etc... They should let you park it in front of their house and let it sit.

they want me to get rid of it. but i am not seeing as how it runs and yes i am getting a lot of money for signing and good pay i do not want to spend all of that on a car. plus i am working on something that will make it so that i absolutely will not get rid of my car which ever one it happins to be by the time i ship out. i am working on an absolute deal, and its an opertunity that does not happine for me so i am goin to take it.

Well what are you going to do if no one has the space for it and your parents won't let you keep it there?
Is the car worth it to pay the storage to hold on to? If so it may be your only option when it comes time.

Mike, are you talking about the purple escort? theres absolutely NOTHING you can do to that car to make it worth keeping.
It needs a shit ton of body work , it needs MORE body work done to it then its worth. That alone makes it not worth paying storage on.
Last I knew, you had a bad windsheild, no hood , can't remember if you had a front bumper, dents everywhere...
come on bro, i know your smarter then that.
When you get back ,i'll help you find a car... but dont keep that junker.

i didnt want to say yet but no. i am getting rid of the escort. this friday i am buying an 1989 chevrolet camaro iroc-z for $250. it is t-top and has the tpi 5.7L engine. has minimal damage. just the driver rear Q-panel. the power locks dont work but is easily junkyard fixable. this is a chance i dont think i will have again. and this is the kind of vehicle i have always wanted, so this is very important to more than anything else. besides basic training. i dont expect any one to really understand how important it is to me but i was just asking for a favor. thanks to everyone that replied. i will think of something.

sounds like a better plan. I didn't mean to come off harsh on the escort , but it was a junker and a waste of money. Pictures of said camaro?

I guess I just don't understand why someone would buy a car(even if a good deal) just before they left and they have no place to store it and don't have money to store it somewhere. Logically it is bass ackwards

I am thoroughly confused with the priorities here.
I really don't think you could ever convince me it is a good enough deal to put your friends or family out of space in order to complete said deal. So I will just stop talking and say good luck with your deployment/training and multiple vehicle issues.
I don't know many of the guy's homes out there but maybe someone has a hunk of land behind their house. Maybe someone lives in the boonies like my aunt and they could just stick it under a tree or something. Whatever though good luck
