trying to get her to run right/more powa
I want to do all this by Jan 1st 06'
I think I have the correct order but correct me if I'm wrong
Flywheel - bought 7/24
spec stage 3 lightweight (reg price 370ish)
SCT chip (racer package 700)
Intercooler Piping (200?)
Intercooler (200 or less)
5lb tial spring (I have 1 bar, can't do that on a stock motor) (35)
Turbo gasket (header to turbo) (20)
Reinforced Couplings (40ish)
Of coarse if I come across deals I'll go for them, right now I'm looking at a flywheel and Intercooler both for a awesome deal...so i might have to take em.

Tuning.
Your clutch is getting stronger, as you keep burning oil off of it. :)

I'd say clutch to, but im lazy and dont wanna drop the tranny. (even though it takes around 4 hrs with help, pull and install)
I wanna wait til its cooler for that...late august
Looks like its tuning, i might order it thurs , trying to decide where the best deal is with the data loggers so i can tune it myself easier.

make sure you do a write up for that turbo install. i know myself and probably others have that on their project list.
Also, would someone be willing to teach me to drive a mtx? i know you guys can laugh, but i gotta learn sometime. i plan on doing a atx to mtx swap before my turbo install. I am shooting for spring of 06 to have my tranny, engine, and turbo work done. No point in rushing it in the winter, insurance wouldnt cover all that work if i happen to wreck in the snow. although i am hoping to use my grand am as my "snow mobile"! lol

i vote for the clutch. that chip is useless if you blow out your clutch

Even though you done made up your mind I'd say clutch.....

Hell yeah, come by my place, I'll teach you 5-speed. It's a lot of fun in a ZX2.

dang all the misc turbo crap is adding up, like all the fittings:
2 oil flanges
2 oil flange gaskets
exhaust turbo gasket
exhaust turbo exit gasket
oil restrictor
oil feed
oil return
exhaust flange
2 barbed fittings for coolant
all that is alittle over 100 bucks, plus shipping...good news though, all the flanges are t series and gt series compatable, so later when I upgrade to my gt2871 turbo only thing I'll have to change is the flanges for intake :)
Hardest part so far has been oil feed and return, getting those correct..which I dont even know if I did..til I recieve them.
Then once that done, welding will be the next step.
Oh and I did get my intercooler, got a evo 8 one with low mileage for 110 bucks :) I bid on one 2 days ago and it went to 300...so i got a hella deal :)
After I'm done I'll totaly every penny I have into it, without the SCT I'm guessing around 650 I'll have into the setup + some extra crap I'm doing (not telling til its completed)

August 25th she comes apart again (if I have all my stuff in)
she'll be getting:
Full Cobalt series gauges:
A-pillar - boost/vac a/f
cubby- water and oil temp
center dash in the gauge surrounding piece- oil pressure (pressure will be tapped from the turbo oil line)
Fidanza
Spec stage 3
new throw out and pilot bearing
Exchange of the windage tray
Turbo install
Custom 3 inch downpipe
And maybe SCT, but if I dont have sct by then I wont run it til I do.
Hopefully I ordered everything for the turbo, I'm still waiting on stuff but I wont be able to see what I missed til it gets here :)

ya , wait a week or so, and when I'm done I'll name every inch of it with prices, and real world prices (I have a tendancy to get hella deals lol)
If it comes out really good, I make try to copy it and sell the second one.
All I got left to order is:
Reinforced Silicon (thanks cjw for the link, thats where I'll be going)
Piping (dumb ass on ebay replies every 2 days, and doesn't even anwer my questions)
and V-band flanges/ring
After I'm done, and its all looking good, I'll explain every aspect of it, and why I did it this way or that way, which I did do something differently but all with good intentions :)

alright awsome. i dont have all the money up front for a kit, but plan to buy piece by piece over the next several months. But the parts list/ pricing would help tremendously. And i will get to see the faults in your kit over the next few months before i get mine to do things differently :P

turbo project is back on hold, I'm going to ebay my turbo and get a new bb one (gt2871r) it will be a much bigger turbo then I need, it will laugh at my whopping 7lb's , but it will kick out up to 30lbs/350whp. Its around 1000.00 , so I'm going to work on getting sct, then the turbo. Might as well do it the right way the first time :)
