I am looking to get an air compressor so I can do my own boost leak tests. I only need to pump out 25 psi. I am a complete noob when it comes to air compressors. I know they can get pricey if you are going to work with impacts. I am just looking for a small one that will atleast be able to pump out 25 psi into my tester. Any ideas or suggetions would be great on what to get.

nearly any air compressor will do 25psi . I have several if you make your jig to test with your welcome to my garage. In about a week or so there will be room for 2 more cars in the garage.

Awesome! Do you have a air regulator?

Its supposed to be in the mid 50's next weekend. =)

Are you open next week for me to swing by?

I am not really in a rush, I just want to take off this AGP EVM surge plate I have on my car and reinstall my stock surge valve with an upgraded spring. Then do a boost leak test.

The regulator I have is not going to be what you want.

You can either: buy one and keep it, or I can see what I can find , that way I can keep it in my garage.

Sats are best for me, your welcome to come out any sat you want garage is open house. I also have alot of tools and a few misc air tools.

I work tomorrow, if I get free time ... i'll go look around for an air regulator. I still haven't had time to look to see if I got your number, so I'll check here soon and we'll see what we can come up with. If anything we can make a run that day to home depot and get everything we need to do this test.

I would build one out of an air tank. Just take it and fill it up when needed. I cannot imagine needing a huge volume of air for this.

I will probably pick up an air regulator sometime this week. They had one over at JCCC it just attached to the air hose and you turn a knob and set it so 25 psi shoots through the hose.

What would be a good time on Saturday?

All I need is 25 psi to be shooting out, and a hose of course. I remember when I worked at the golf course in lenexa we were always driving around in those little ATV things with a bed. Tires would go flat due to the thorns so we had a little air bubble we filled up with an air compressor... That is a good idea though. Just get a little bubble and take it to your local gas station or local auto shop and have them fill it up. Thats an idea.
