Ok, I'm making this post for everyone to introduce yourself. This is for existing members and new members to get to know one another.

I'm Jarred, I have a 2000 zx2 s/r that I'm working on. I also run this site along with a few others.

Paul here. I have a neon and an old beater jeep.

I am Stephen, I drive a 04 Neon and love to work on cars.

I own teamzx2.com and an admin here. I live in PA but was born in Shawnee and met my buddy Jarred through teamzx2...since then I haven't left.

Mike it was good to meet ya! At least we got to have a little fun before the coppers showed up... I told you that thing was mad fun, too bad we didnt get some more seat time in it.

(It's a Racing Go-kart with a 12-13hp Briggs methanol powered flat head motor, and it's crazy fun!)

sounds good, I dont know where there is to buy fireworks out here (maybe someone will post?) , This is the 2nd 4th of july I've been in the house/kansas. Might wanna try to find some on the way down.

there arent many in shawnee/OP area really fireworks are illegal almost everywhere in kansas. missouri is the best bet, like the red x or something.

tried calling you, it said the phone was turned off.

you guys run and go get fireworks, then come over.

i am the one with the messed up rim.



the story: i was driving in the left lane along shawnee mission parkway, coming out of the plaza late one night last week and some car comes flying at me from a side-street. it looked like he was going to t-bone/side-swipe me. since my girlfriend was in the car, i took my chances driving up onto the curb. the car came very close, but didn't hit me. the car took off on the very next side-street. my guess was that the guy was drunk and/or just being really stupid. it happened so quick i didn't really think about what it might have done to my car at the time since i was more worried about my girlfriend's safety. i didn't hear anything out of ordinary and the car was driving fine. after i got home, that is when i saw what it had done to my wheels. other than the one that is now broken, the other wheel on the same side has really bad curb rash. they look really bad now, so i am in the process of replacing them.

my other problem: i cannot get a direct replacement wheel. i bought my wheels last summer during a srtforums group buy through subydude.com. no distributor in america can get me a wheel anymore. it was a limited time offer and they no longer offer that rim with the offset i need. i even spoke directly with rota and they told me that they could not and will not make me another rim. i even told them that i would pay them handsomely for just one wheel, still nothing (seriously, F those guys). my wheel is a 5x100 bolt pattern, 17x8, with a +35 offset. i have been able to fine a knock-off rim that looks close, but it won't be the same finish and there are extra holes in the center. below is a pic of what i will most likely be replacing them with.

^^^ Yeah, thats one crappy ordeal dude. Glad nothing serious happened and everybody was okay, thats what really matters like you said.
