Full Version: ZX2 Shiftkit

The pictures here are using a pre-assembled shiftkit. If you take your resistor, and put it in a plastic box with six wires coming out (two for the resistor, two for the potentiometer, two for a fixed-value 33k resistor), the install is the same.

The site is currently down. If anyone would like to volunteer an automatic ZX2 for the installation, I'll provide parts.

what are CELs?
arden
if im not mistaken it looks like they are installing POTs and a shift kit. i am not familiar with the install but i can tell you about the mod itself if thats what you need.

POTs- tricks the pcm into thinking its colder outside, makes the pcm add fuel to the air/fuel ratio and gives a boost in HP.

Shift kit- provides quicker, harder shifts for automatics.

POTs? Are you talking about those little scams on eBAy that supposedly add horsepower, when in reality it doesn't do anything?

Try again. The POTS mod is dyno-proven to add over 10whp. The disadvantage is the ZX2's computer -- it will adjust it out rapidly, and will cause a limp-mode SES light if left on for too long. That, and the ZX2's POTS mod targets two different sensors, not just the IAT. It also targets the ECT, which is the "big dog" in terms of power-adding performance.

I actually have POTS on my car. I don't use it though. In fact, I forgot it was installed, since the pots are tucked up under the center console :)

It's also not good to use long term... Because it makes it run rich.

I never did it because I thought it would be better to wait for SCT

Where the crap can I even get a shift kit for my automatic ZX2? Everyone I've asked said they don't make them, and about how much do they cost?

Welp, looks like it's about time to upgrade this writeup.

Who wants to be the guinea pig? You pay for parts, I'll install, as long as I get to take pictures.

If you thought it would help mine I would gladly be guinea piglet
