Well after alot of frustration, I've decided to use the stock cgi main caps that came with the block. There are several factors that lead up to this.
1. the billets (already paid for) cost nearly 400 shipped
2. they came up unexpectedly out of stock, and wont be instock til the 13 or later
3. no one in KANSAS CITY can align bore my block with the billets
Now on return side:
1. I have nearly 400 extra now
2. cgi mains are roughly 30% stronger then stockers
3. Never actaully seen anyone break them, only hear say.. I've seen plenty over 300 whp with stock zetec caps and arp's (mind you these are stock iron, not cgi)
4. I can start machining asap rather then waiting 4 weeks
although Rich (machine shop rich) said he's about 3 weeks out right now..but I can atleast drop off everything and he can get ordering on the bearings.
He also said he would balance the crank with the flywheel and PP if I wanted... he said its not needed but always nice for reassurance...
He was pretty cool... so I guess this is the way I'm going. Now I must get the flywheel sent to spec real quick so I can get it back with the re-call fixed, and also get a Pressure plate of some sort...since my spec took a shit.

What kind of bearings are you going to go with? Calico Coated?

Ya, I'll go with coated bearings but not sure what brand. He suggested ACL , but I've been looking into Clevite H series bearings
I've emailed the guy with the billet mains, asking for a refund. He offered before hopefully this is no hassle refunding lol.

I told you about the machine shop I used for my short block Jarred. Cyldes automotive in Independence can do the work you're trying to get done. The prices are resonable too. Like I told you tzx2 my car should be running by wednesday so I can give you an idea of how this all works out. I have no doubt in his machining ability and he's highly recomended by a lot of people.

Tom still hasn't responded. I'll call clydes tomorrow. I did call just about everyone in the kansas city area though. The zetecs crank bore is just to small to carry on a normal basis.
The diameter for the crank is 58mm
46.9 for the crank pins

most of you know but long story short the block is going off to NC for some machine work.
Thanks to 01CGneon (stephen) I got the crate all made up today and backed. Should work out pretty well... we built it really strong. Plus they can re-use it to send it back in.

Yep, might look like shit and need a few minor mechanical repairs.. but sure is a fun car.
Also those valves did sell. Today I sold the head, valves, stock tb, and a timing belt. Made 600.00
It will help the build , thats for sure!
