Josh, what are you doing for your commuter-car mileage estimates?

I was able to hit 42-43 mpg with these mods:

5spd using sedan transaxle (important)
Kemanized intake using K&N open-filter
CWQ3 using 92 octane
2.25" catback exhaust with Flowmaster (resonates though)
38 PSI in the tires

When done it will be:
Roush intake
MAF box modded for airflow(you'll understand when you see it)
MAF adaptor Jbwelded to the MAF and cut to the opening of the MAF(about 3.25)
Ported TB
Ported intake manifold
Kamikaze header
2.25 cat
2.25 catback
Essy UDP and Zxtuner ODP
Will be SCT tuned on 89 octane tuned for the commute and some power

Right now I have carbontech intake, Essy UDP and Zxtuner ODP, DXB2 and 87 octane pulling 36 mpg at 75-80 the whole way to work right at about 3,500 rpms.

So I expect to have right around 38-40 maybe more with my mods coming

oh ya im getting 15-20 mpg , if I hit 200 a tank I'm doing good :twisted:

Damn... If i don't drive hard AT ALL for a whole tank, i can get around 350-360. Otherwise it's around 270-280.

Once you get more mods, your foot tends to wanna play with them.

Mileage--

True, true... I noticed that i liked the sound of my exhaust so for a couple of days i was livink in the 4.5-5K RPM area.... Gas mileage = not as good

hehehe I keep saying I am modding for gas mileage but it stays relatively the same because I am at 3,5 or higher all the time... :oops:

my milage sucks, i cant keep my foot light enough on the gas...i always have to be revving it, or accelerating hard from lights and braking late. glad i am starting to save for a tranny and engine rebuild :twisted:

You have an 03. CTFO on that car and be a bit gentler on it. A mildly-modded (think intake + 0W-20 oil) ATX can hit 38mpg highway. I did it.

We don't want to discuss gas milage.... Lets not go there... ::cough:: 17 to the gallon ::cough::

Christ, man! That sucks. My dad's '01 F250 almost get's that mileage... Sheesh... :shock:

He's right. My talon will be back on the road asap and then engine rebuild, new turbo, new FMIC.... We'll be gunning for high to mid 12's

well in that case, when I get done with my zx2 I'll be running 11's all day long

I'll be done in about 4 months... When/if we come down in December, we'll have to run for bragging rights :D
