i have my fingers crossed they do. the kit i was planning on getting would have almost exact fit and no cutting or chopping required... this kit though... who knows... i am guessing sully will know for sure, he knows his kits. in any case, i think i will be saving money in the end even if i have to do some extensive modifications
Awesome man.
Its starting to get warm around here...maybe we should figure out the details of this hood fitting thing.

yeah that would be cool, but aero parts wont tell me if they have that hood still in stock. i think i will call them later today to get a for sure answer

well after a brief arguement with another forum member on who actually was going to get the kit, its official. its mine! the seller and i are making arrangements via greyhound for shipping. after i send my payment it will be here a couple days later or less. (i guess greyhound is fast!) from there it might be a couple weeks before i can afford paint, BUT with any luck it should be on before the next auto x event... im probably sacrificing my auto x performance a bit by waiting to get the falken tires but i think everyone here would drop their current plans to pick up an awesome deal like this...
as for the hood, im on the phone now with this chick (sounds HOT) and waiting to see if there are any in stock...

alright so i had to wait for aero kits to call me back. she did, and she was kinda flirty lol, but anyways, they still have ONE CF scoote hood left in stock. its $539 + shipping .
i have cancelled my order for my auto x wheels to free up cash for the hood.
CJW- could you somehow test fit this hood fairly soon? i suppose i could purchase it and leave it for you to pick up. you could test fit it there and if it does not fit you could have them see the gap/mis fit and they could refund the money on the spot without all the hassle of shipping it back and forth. i suppose if it fits you could ship it yourself via greyhound and maybe save me some cash on shipping. They said it would be $150 to ship which sounds about right... or just have them ship it...

wow i feel like im talking to myself... lol
i also ordered my red underglow kit today too. i will buy the hood when my income tax check gets here and wait for c dubbs to help a brother out
jibber jabberin when Im not online...you was talkin to yourself.
Yea Ill go and test fit it. Id rather not ship it myself for the sake of if anything happens during shipping Id rather it be dealt with directly with the company. Ill have to go on the weekend. Me and a buddy or 2 will go down and do the trial fit if you'd like.

lol yeah it was a SUPER tough call, you have no idea. the kit isnt what made me cancel the order. its the fact that they hadnt done anything after i ordered the wheels a week ago... so i assumed they were on backorder and i wasnt going to have them in time for the race anyways. the kit was a HELL of a steal and i also found out that there is only ONE more of the hood that i am dying to get left in stock and they probably wont be making any more, so i had to dump the other half on getting that hood...
sorry if i let ya down rodney... at least the performance parts are still going on for the second race. and by the time the third one rolls around i SHOULD be manual w/ the wheel and tire package i want
Not sure which weekend. I doubt this weekend will work cuz I dunno whats going on.
As for who Im taking it will be J the Mexican and/or lil papa aka dan (big papa is my dad and dan is lil cuz he's little...

your car looks clean now, personally I'd left it the way it was and made it faster...

arden
May 6 2006, 01:18 PM
yeah jarred! jeez, its the cheapest HP upgrade on the market!
let me know what you think of it in a month when everything is on and done. By then i will have the kit on and painted w/ my hood and maybe a CF wing. have to wait on the seats until auto x is over but i am still ahead of target on doing my engine/turbo upgrade by august so no worries, speed will come soon. its all about doing it slow and right the first time. speed will also be hugely upped when i go mtx later this month

thats cool, i do what i can with my wages. you make considerably more than i do so i expect nothing less...
it will be nice to have 3-4 boosted Z's by the end of this summer to show up those ignorant mustang and import guys at the races about what an "escort" is capable of

May 9 2006, 03:20 PM
i wouldn't be able to have it ready until more toward the end of the year, i'm going to buy two blocks soon and build one for tubro and another for high comp. i will use the high comp until i feel that the turbo is really ready to be used.
arden
May 9 2006, 04:33 PM
wow you sure? wish i had enough for a NA and boosted setup. thats crazy... personally it think you should get one and stick with it. there is really no point in going with both

new pics after i test fitted the front. obviously its a rough fit right now cuz i dont know what im doing but i did get the bumper reinforcement off. sully will basically have to take it from here and use his magic touch to finish the minor details.
***No the front is not on the car right now, i just test fitted it. from what i can tell, some minor trimming/adjustments and the front will fit great. and the front looks really weird in the pic cuz its not on right and so the bottom of the front is sticking up and makes it look like the front is a mile off the ground lol.
the rear and sides will fit good too, i would like to mold the rear onto the rear bumper, the kit rear is a wrap so it will look a lot better if its molded, and i can do that myself.

i'd be careful molding that stuff and trying to autocross your car. those body panels are supposed to be able to flex and if you mold them together and when you put a lot of stress on your cars unibody frame those panels are still going to flex and you could end up ripping the molds apart and then your car would look like shit.
you need to paint it, it looks like crap

i am only molding the kit rear to the stock rear bumper, it will still have the body line between the trunk and rear fenders, no flex there. i dont plan on molding anything else, and i know you were joking about the paint but that will be done hopefully the first week or two of june depending on sully's schedule
