Okay, so it has been a while since I have been on here. I tend not to keep cars very long(currently driving Stratus Coupe R/T that I have only had for 5 months!), however, I think I found one that I will keep for a while.

I know there are a few SRT owners on here, what do you suggest as upgrades on this machine?
inis
oh I see how it is, only talk to us when you got a car going on huh?

just yanking your chain. I'm sure one of the 5 billion neonheads here will chime in.

^^ Ass. lol

Where the hell have you been? Are you still in Gardner? Am I no longer the only SRT-4 owner in Gardner!?

What color did you get and what year? Sorry for all the questions.

First mod I would do would be short throw shifter.

Oh yeah, if you are driving it during the winter time, make sure you have good all seasonals or winter tread.

I have been crazy busy with work, I am the director for Chrysler outsourcing collection unit! With the economy in the crapper we are calling everyone to pay their bill!! haha

I am still in Gardner, I live in Aspen Creek (Second Gardner Exit)

It is a 2004 Electric Blue

You picked the fastest color! yay!

Bone Stock? Miles? Condition?

First Mod I'd do, Boost leak test and hop into our Fuel Pump Rewire GB. (it's cheap!)

Page 46 on.

Also, I'm going to say ditto on the Winter Tires. This thing is a Truck if you got the right tires.

I was really looking for the Orange, not because orange adds 20 more HP than blue, but that I like the color, haha!

Car is bone stock, owened by an older gentleman that didnt really know what he had, used it to drive back and forth to work. Has 40,000 miles on it, CLEAN! He had just bought 08 Accord and just wanted it out of his garage, got him to sell it to me for $10,000!

Nice!

I'd start with a boost leak test, get those fix'd and start zip tie'n those stock vac lines!!! @ 40K theya re plenty soft by now and the first real real extended Full boost run will be sure and show you which ones needed Zip ties (grin).

If you want I'd be happy to look it over and give you an assessment. I know your busy with work, but maybe on a weekend here soon.

Drop the 60.00 and get it dyno'd as soon as those pesky boost leaks are gone. A Good baseline will help you judge your mods.

Some common required things for modding these cars are:

Scanguage
Wideband
Rewired Fuel pump (Some do this some do not, but it's in the 300HP on a stock turbo how-to)
Short Throw Shifter
Bogger Bushings
Motor Mount upgrades
Tranny Mount upgrade
Hardpipes
Intercooler

Stay far far away form the "MSD" coils, most people have very bad luck with them.

NGK 4306's are your plugs of choice if you dont go with champion OEM replacements with the list of superceeded...(its long). I would not put the Factory OEM plugs back in, mine were junk IMHO.

0W-40 or 5W-30 Full synthetic oil. Change it every 2500 miles (turbo eats oil).

Check all of your Bushings!!! Dodge cant make a part out of rubber, or buy one already made for shit.

I'll drop some more on you as I think of it.

P.S.
E-Blue did have 20 more HP then the OB ones.

Great advice AJ!

I don't know about changing the oil at 2500k, specially with synthetic that our cars require. I sent my oil off to BlackStone labs and it still had loads of additve in after 3k. 6.7 TBN. At 1 tbn all the additive is gone. I believe 8-10 is a normal TBN for an oil to start out with, 11 tops for a passenger car oil. 12 TBN is a serious oil.

Going 4k on this next oil change and sending it in.

But not sure about the whole turbo thing, might have to email Blackstone labs about the whole turbo thing.

And damn, you got a GREAT deal on your SRT-4. $10k with 40k is a steal!

I also would be more than happy to check it out.

What is TBN?

if it were me in your situation. i would start out with something simple, like an intake kit. this was my first mod and i have been very pleased with it.

That was the first mod I got for my car too. You can really hear the stock surge valve with one. Free's up engine bay and might add a couple horses.
