Full Version: Srt Boost Question
KcTuners > General > The Donut Shop

Dodge is stating im not getting any boost because the following sensors need to be replaced, is this accurate? They are charging $500 for parts and labor, have not told them to do it just yet.

P0192 Fuel Rail Pressure Sensor Circuit Low Voltage
P0198 Engine Oil Temperature Sensor High Voltage

P0192 can cause the boost control silinoid via a signal form the PCM to operate in a fault mode - Baseline Wastegate spring pressure (Stock would be 4-5psi)

P0198 - Sounds like it's a bad wire, or ground.

What is the cost of these 2 sensors? Have they inspected the grounds for the car? (there are three) - a good majority (about 75% or more) of the issues on SRTforums over the last 4 years had to do with bad grounds causing weird codes. IMHO, checking and fixing a ground is much cheaper then throwing parts at it.

The DRB tool the dealer uses is also fooled by these bad grounds!

I know the solenoids are around $40 each. I broke a nipple on one before. You could always just take it off computer control boost awith a better WGA. Maybe doing that would fix your problem. I don't know man. $500 is pretty steep. Ask on SRTforums in the dealer section. I hate to see you get ripped off for a minor problem.

Its all up to you though man

Also find out what parts they will replace and report back.

I am taking Engine Performance at JCCC right now. You could always bring your car in and we could fix it. Our teacher is a master ASE tech. He is VERY knowledgeable and keeps close tabs on us.

I am going back to class in a bit. And will look up and locate those sensors. And find more aobut those codes.
I will ask him about it. We have lab every Wednesday from 1-5:45pm

Well, I have got myself into a nightmare (sort of). Dodge looked at the car and of course the two sensors they are saying are bad. I also wanted to check the transmission because it slipped out of 5th gear. They looked at the transmission and turns out the casing is cracked as well as the intercooler is damaged. They are saying $6,000 to fix.

The reason I say sort of is because I purchased the item through ebay and they have insurance up to $50,000, sooo needless to say if the seller does not correct, I am filing a claim and getting rid of the damn thing.

Does anyone know if a 2005 transmission will fit 2004 SRT? I would think it would.
inis
if you split with the car, I would be interested in obtaining it.

how can the seller not know the transmission is cracked, ic is fucked, etc etc

what did carfax say about it?

post up the ebay link

If I get rid of the car it will be because the seller refunded my money and I returned the car, or vehicle protection insurance from ebay refunds my money and takes the car.

Who the hell knows

The title showed a clear title, but I checked carfax after the fact (my mistake) and it still showed clear title but then showed insurance claim as total loss. WTF is that about?

Wow.... All caps, doesn't know how to spell, throws out random information. Puts the "no warranty, sold as is" right in the middle of his giant sentence.

He is indeed a filthy liar about the car though.

Stock SRT intercoolers can be had for cheap. They go for around $50-75 shipped on SRTforums. I believe Nacho might have an extra one he might sell to yah.

An 05 transmission should bolt right up... Ask in the drivetrain section on SRTforums, they should know for sure.

holy shit, 10k for a car that was a total loss. Seriously you better get on the seller and ebays ass.

FWIW, You can fix the car for WAY less then 5000.00. I have a great condition stock IC. Very clean. And we can source you a Tranny and clutch for right at 2K. Leaving you with...

3000.00 or 4000.00 extra... 6000.00 Quote to fix = 6000.00 credit back to you on the sale. Thats how I'd work it. Let your local community of SRT owners support you and get a REAL STEAL.

Plus, you have the cash to do New brakes and suspention to the 9's a full 3" tbe with 3" O2 - 2K left over for some bolt ons or a new snail!

This is just my opinion, and if your looking for something you can drive right fucking now...this aint the way. It could be driveable in 3-7 days depending on the transmission source.

Feel free to call me, my normal number is on the fritz so use the blackberry, 913-231-9298.

New Transmission should be put in the next week or so. I will then need to have someone look into the turbo deal to see why it is not boosting. Dodge said they noticed a new computer was in it, could this have anything to do with, well any of it?
MyNeonSaysHi
So I take it you are getting reimbursed for this and your seller is paying for it?
Could of been in a flood?
What kind of "new pcm" did they tell you it had? A Staged one? Well the car will not run if the PCM isn't flashed to the VIN.

No Seller is GONE! Its covered through ebay insurance and they are covering it.
I dont believe it to be in a flood.
They didnt say what kind of PCM it had, just made the comment that it had been replaced.
Car runs, so not the PCM, I take it.

So he just stopped replying? The seller that is? How will eBay "cover it?" With their own money?

There is a time frame when it has to be resolved, like 30 days from entering claim. It has been 3 weeks, so not too much longer. Already looking into some goodies!!! Just want the GD thing back

The seller was responding to begin with that he will make it right and get a trans. to fix. He stated that I should send the car back (YEA RIGHT) and he would get it fixed. I told him he has two options, give me a full refund or pay for repairs, never heard from him again.

They pay for the repairs, unless repairs exceed 75% of value

I sent him an email, he said it has a clean title. But it does have 9X,XXX miles on it. He has only had it for 8 months, he is getting rid of it because he can't afford it.... Kind of riced out, but a pretty good deal if everything works good.

I went to the dealership to pick up 2 crush washers for my coolant return line. I saw your car up there in a bay. Wasn't lifted. Just chillin there. I guess they moved their parts department to where the mercury dealership sued to be. So I went in my car and I started to go to the parts place, and sure enough around the corner your Blue SRT came around. No idea what they were doing.

Looks good from the outside, but its whats on the inside that counts. Hopefully all that is said is done. Looks to be pretty legit. Remember you can get 25% off of that price with Live Cashback.

I have $98 pending in my PayPal account. Takes 60 days to get the money. (so people don't abuse it and return items) Have to have a msn/hotmail account.

On another note, theres a dude on 2gn.org selling a 04 SRT-4 tranny with LSD for $1000 plus shipping OBO in the forsale section. Seems like a pretty legit guy.
