i am trying to get some justification for this purchase. a guy on the srt forums is selling his set of coilovers for $625 shipped. they sell new for double that. they are 16-way adjustable tein's. he's had them on his car for approximately 10k miles and they look like they are in good shape from the pictures he has posted. i have the money i just don't know if i should do it or not. my main reasoning behind getting co's in the first place is because the lowering springs i have on my car now are going to eventually blow out my stock struts. the replacement upgrade struts (tokico illuminas) are going to cost at least as much as this guy is asking for the co's, so it seems like a good deal. any thoughts?

I'd wait.

SS's or SS-P's?

There is a big difference.

I went with the BC's for 2 reasons, 1 TEIN replacements take forever 8-12 weeks, 2 - Better Spring Rates on the BC's the TEIN specs were a little light and I could see plenty of bumpstop action under fun conditions.

the BC's are just a few hundred more and you would get a brand new set + warrenty + easy to replace.

they are the ss model, not the ss-p model.

i went ahead and got them from the guy. i am not concerned with spring rates. i had a static drop on my s10 xtreme that was bumpy as hell, and the eibach sportlines that are on now haven't been very soft either.

as far as the bc's are concerned, i would never buy something suspension-related that costs that much money. i would rather put it towards a big turbo kit. and if you have been on modern's site recently, their bc price has gone up. total shipped would have cost me almost $1300 (with the rear camber plates), double what i payed for the teins. i'll let you know how everything turns out. they get here this thursday, so i'll put them on this weekend.

Well if you think about it... Your car is lowered on Eibachs correct? How much was that kit? Then you got another set of Eibach's right because you wanted the ass end to go lower, plus you paid Revline to install it. Now you are getting used coilovers for $650. I bet overall thats more than $900 I paid for my BC coilovers. biggrin.gif

Hope everything turns out good with them!
