Look into resonant engineering(reaudio) RE 8" subwoofers

They take very little to make them move sufficiently and are amazing woofers. They are rated at 175wrms so the amp needed to push them will not have to be large(size wise or wattage wise) I have 1 right now in a .75 cubic foot box ported to 32 hz and it bangs. It is louder than my 2 infinity 10s were and cleaner sounding on top of that with the same wattage.

Neccesary size for the box is .25 cubic foot sealed or .5 cubic foot ported. Thats a tiny box. You can fit it about anywhere you want. mounting depth of roughly 4" they are very easy to place just about anywhere youd want it.

Because the driver is not very beefy you can also get away with using 5/8" wood without a problem.

Id put pictures up but not all my ftp files were brought back up...

hmm. i am interested in this. is there a link?

www.reaudio.com

Go to their contact section and call them with the given phone number.

They will tell you where the closest dealer is to you. There are no online dealers at this time. If there is noone near you to buy from I would highly reccomend asking them where the closest dealer is and for their phone number.

Reaudio will sell directly to you if there is noone around BUT it will be full msrp price which changes frequently and last I checked it was 109 per. The dealer should sell them cheaper and ship them if you talk to them about it. (or pick them up, duh)

In the past Reaudio sold direct at their cost which was significantly cheaper. The problem with this was they were undercutting thier dealers. So now the cheapest way is through the dealers. When I bought direct the re8s were 56 per shipped(direct pricing which is over).

what sizes? just the normal ones?
CJW
The RE series comes in 8", 10" and 12"

The one I was talking about is the 8" or RE-8

The other sizes need more volume to make the sub perform well.

Next up from that is the SR line which should be available in the next month or so which is 10, 12, and 15
Then SE line 10, 12, 15
SX line 10, 12, 15, 18
MX line 12, 15, 18 (12 available now, rest soon to be released)
XXX line 12, 15, 18 (12 available now, rest soon to be released)
MT line 10, 12, 15, 18
XMX custom built I believe goes up to 23...costs about 8grand

My next setup I hope to be a SE 15 teehee.gif

so are the 8's any good do you think?
CJW
Thats why I made this post... dry.gif

They are one of the best quality subwoofers Ive ever owned. The sound quality is amazing. And it honestly amazes me at its output. If I didnt know it was an 8 I wouldnt believe it if someone told me.
