well i'm getting a 98 5spd neon coupe for helping this old guy do stuff he cant do byhimself anymore. and i went to the local picknpull yesturday and found a modified neon. for less than $150 i got a short shifter, new valve cover, mod'd head, four to one header, and lowering springs. and getting this car only raised my insurance $20. also defogged the headlights, took that ugly ass spoiler off as well as the hub caps. car doesnt look too bad.got a tb from an automatice neon so its a little bit bigger than the manual one. all in all got alot of good deals. going to go with 2 1/2" piping and the same pipes performance M80 muffler i used on the focus.

got the lowering springs ready to swap in this week. put on the larger tb made it more responsive and i think i gained some torque. short shifter is also installed. just need to get the rust off the header paint it hi temp black, wrap it, then get another coat of hi temp clear on it. going to use the stock cat cept i'm going to hollow it out. i need a new bobble strut though, real bad. looking at neongoodies semi solid adjustable one.

got the lowering springs on, cleaned, painted and wrapped the header. looked it up, its a hedman header. short shifter has been in for a bit. just need to get the exhaust finished.

yeah i'm in virginia. can i get a pic of the rims! :D :D i'm looking for something bigger than the 14"steelies its got. ok well so far its been lowered, dropped it almost 2". i have the header painted, wrapped, and on. hollowed the cat. and for now just stock exhaust, i have to do inspections in VA. short shifter, larger TB. next thing i'm going to do is get a 2.4 head and clean it up and beef it up then save for the hahn turbo get. cant wait :D

remember the older neons didn't turbo for shit, Rich had proven that pretty well. Your best best is to find a wrecked srt4 and salvage the motor. Even a stock srt4 motor will be more worthwhile then a turbo 420a

You can always go nitrous too, There are quite a few nitrous 1st gen owners on neons.org that run 12's with minimal mods and 100 wet shot. Probably be your cheapest bet to go fast... But I am with inis, try to find a wrecked SRT-4 motor and get that dropped in. Be a ton of work though.

what about the 2.0 built bottom end, 2.4 built head and a turbo with a shot of nos? :D

lol. pick and pull, typo. well its been lowered, short shifter, header with paint and wrap. hollow cat. i swapped out the roller rockers in it to try to get rid of a small knock its got at start up. the larger tb. deleted the power steering and ac. took out passenger and rear seats and all paneling in the trunk. i'm tryin to find a stand alone or piggy back ecu that will work with it but no luck so far. right now the exhaust rattles and makes it sound like some riced out pos. pissin me off. just got to get under and make sure its all secure and not rattling against anything. would love to get ahold of some larger rims. i hate virginia, i have to do inspections with the car and if i do anything else really it wont pass. i got to figure out how to transfer the registration to ks reg's. anyone know how?

ok, stroked and .20 bored 2.6L twin turbo race block. how about that? lol , just work on the rest of the car till i can afford the block lol.

anyone have a srt4 motor for sale? i just need a bare block and bare head. i cant find them at any junk yard.
