Hey guys, I decided to put a engine in that other 55 of mine.

Plans are a mildly built carb'd LS engine, around 500 crank hp. Gm crate performance has a 515 crank hp carb'd ls engine for around 4500

I'm looking to find a used block, and buy cheap rods and pistons (raised compression) , aftermarket heads, intake and carb. Possibly 2nd hand or something someone is looking to get rid of.

I also plan to mount this to the 67 camaro ss 4spd muncie that I already have. I see the bell housing is around 250, and I can use a standard ls 11" flywheel and clutch set up.

Please help me find these parts. I'm looking to aquire all this over the next 8 months and start putting it all together next summer. Hopefully I can have the block built by then and assemble the rest later.

I prefer a ls3, but looks like the blocks alone are going for 750 range, I'm also confused to which ls series to get. I prefer to go with something newer then the dieing trend ls1.

Well that may still be awhile...you may still find some bigger and parts to trade out on the zx2 LOL.

I understand though trying to build one vehicle at a time, makes sense.

Try having no DD and all of your vehicles being projects haha. JK ranger isn't a project, just getting to be a high maintance vehicle because its older.
