neither will fit on the zx2 intake mani, I have a 4.6 stang TB thats been p&p'd , but I also the the FRIM (ford racing intake mani, for the focus)

I'm not sure if the ranger will fit, i'll have to look at my bro's truck and see.

btw please post vehicle/year model etc etc info when posting, just so ppl know what your talking about since we're a multi car community.
arden
ah, your right. i drive an 03 Ford Zx2.

i will check into the focus manifold, thx inis!

you know i just realized something... inis was talking about using a ranger MAF instead of the mustang MAF... not TB... im a dumbass, someone lock or delete this
inis
aww mafs, still a learning process but my maf is a 99 ranger 4.0 maf , the other size engines have different mafs I believe. Also mustang mafs can get pricey but I'm sure there is one out there for your needs.

so is it just a matter of tricking the pcm into thinking their is more air so it adds more fuel?

well this is needed for a turbo on the zx2 because more air through the maf, means the maf needs to be able to handle that much more air. The stock maf can not read the much, thus needing a larger maf (ranger or whatever floats your boat) to read it, it is a larger diameter and can read more air. A chip is needed for this, and for tuning the rest of the turbo. $$
arden
gotcha! that only needed for turbo applications? what about a highly modded/tuned engine?
arden
ok, i found this on the ford racing site. i wanted to know if this is what comes stock on the newer mustangs or if this is an upgrade for the mustangs. its retail says $240, but if it comes stock then i am sure i could pick one up for less than half that price at a junkyard..

You can usually find a throttle body for $20 in a junkyard.

You might have to make an adapter for it though.
arden
adapter??? thats cool, i did an ok job on the adapter for my intake
