Full Version: Got A New Sub
KcTuners > Bling bling, yo > Interior / ICE
CJW
TC Sounds ReAudio Hybrid
TC9 motor mated with 12" RE MT cone and dustcap, dual 2ohm 3" voice coil woot.gif

RMS is rated 1000-1500 depending the install.

For comparison the JL 12w7 wont hold a flame to it powered properly in the right enclosure biggrin.gif

It will be in a 2-2.5 cubic foot sealed enclosure. For now Im only going to be giving it 600 rms because I dont have any extra money laying around at the moment.(I only buy things for my car with money I set aside as 'extra')

It will be mated with:
pioneer premier 670mp head
pioneer premier 6.5" components
infinity 6802 6x8s(only when rear seat passengers are in the car)
hifonics zx4400 to power those^
incars ran with 16 gauge knukonceptz wiring
hifonics bx605 for the sub(for now)
12 gauge running from the amp to each coil with knukonceptz biwire(dual twisted pair wire)
knu battery terminals
1/0 gauge stinger wire from ground to chassis and from battery back to
knukonceptz konfusion distro block
knukonceptz 1/0 in line fuse holder
4 awg knukonceptz wire from the distro to the amps
and 4 awg knu wire from amps to ground

Car is also in proccess of being fully deadening on the interior except for the firewall.

Hold the comments about weight as I dont race...so boo someone else... laugh.gif

how many oz is the magnet?

No idea. The manufacturer of the original sub doesnt even list it. However it had a BL rate of 140... woot.gif

mother of pearl, why 1/0 cable?! You're not drawing anything near enough to push that. 0/1 cable can comfortably carry almost 3,000W, all day, every day. You'd have to have around a 50kW stereo to push that cable on the bumps.

Save yourself some money, get a high-quality 2-4ga cable. As long as the resistance is low, you'll be fine.

The 0 is going back to the distro which is sending 4 gauge to each of my amps.

I plan to upgrade to a 1000 rms mono sub amp evenually. Which is roughly about 2000+ watt max according to shit companies which rate in max wattage

I may not need it...but its not going to hurt to have it.

It honestly weighs a ton. I have to hold it bracing it with both arms in order to carry it around. It is too awkward and heavy to carry around in your hands...and forget the hold the magnet and hold it out method....

Its a 12...look how big that Fing magnet is

It weighs just shy of 40 lbs woot.gif

that is one pretty sub...kinda reminds me of one of my brothers subs. He has a Power Acoustik MOFO-12. It's a 12" sub that has a 270oz magnet and handles 1200W RMS easy, altho im sure your sub could prolly handle more.

This sub is simply amazing honestly. Im not saying this to rag on systems or anything because they deffinetly have their place. Power acoustik is simply not on the level of tcsounds quality wise.

It is nothing against the driver itself but more so the industry in general. Most companies start out the same. A great organization of a few people trying to make quality products. Company changes hands a few times and one of the owners decides it would be a good idea to go 'mainstream' Which basically means make the driver cheaper(price), make more(quantity), and make them available to everyone(demand). While a great market move it is not a good move for quality of the product to the consumer.(sound quality and longevity)

Ill put it this way. I can call up ReAudio/david or Tcsounds anytime I want and they will rebuild my woofer for me for a much much lesser fee than buying new. If I had a 'mainstream' woofer, because of their price point, they do not offer rebuild kits or recone kits for many models. Now not all mainstream companies are like this but the vast majority are.

In fact you typically cannot talk to THE person building your sub EVER. If I call Re, TC, or one of the many other companies that make a product that is not 'mainstream' I can not only talk to a direct represetative but I talk to the guy building MY sub.

Now, Im not saying cheaper subs are horrible. because they are not. All subs have thier place. Its just they are in different categories I guess you can say. Kinda like a turbo vs. N/A car.

At this point Im addicted to this stuff and its kinda sickening. happy.gif
