should i go one step colder or stock replacements?

i'm getting denso iridiums..and there 12 bucks a plug..just dont wanna go wrong with them.

I think one step colder should be ok, rule of thumb is usaully 50 hp over stock..and 1 step colder should work...

opinions...

itv16 , or itv20

I'd go colder. You might want to open up the gap alittle bit also, depending on what your ignition is. You're not running any giggle juice, are you?

When I was running my 75 shot I had one step colder plugs and closed the gap up a bit.

Why did you close the gap? Just curious?

I had motorcraft one step colder copper plugs in my car for a little while. It ran fine but it clearly wasnt running the same.

For your car in present condition it would only do worse as they dont burn the same or spark the same as the stock plugs... It wont harm anything but by no means is your car running bad because your plugs arent one step colder...And your mods are nowhere close to needing them yet either.

Plugs are only good for so long man...Dont get them for the 'if and when I go' statement....No reason to spend 12 a plug when youll have to replace them down the line again...possibly before your turbo is even in.

I closed the gap to keep the added cylinder pressure from "blowing out the fire"

I have plugs already for the turbo, but I'm getting new plugs to tune with my current set up. I'll have sct, and the msd dis-2 installed at the same time the new plugs go in.

These aren't plugs im using when I turbo.

which plug number up there is the colder one?

With the mods you have corrently you wont benefit from 1 step colder...

People use 1 step on turbo and super charger setups on the zetetc. There is no need for yours or my mods.

BTW I have that tune whenever you need it. NO VCT! happy.gif
