ok....i was being stupid...not paying attention and shifted alittle to hard going into 3rd and it sounded like i missed the gear, but i went to put it in 4th but 4th wasnt there. SO i tried putting it in 3rd and my car is stuck in 4th gear. if i force it into 1st gear my tranny locks up and the car dies. BUT my question is. i have a obx 4-2-1 header and a k&n typhoon intake and 2.25 catback exhaust. the warrenty on my car is still valid. will they still cover my car under warrenty with the aftermarket parts i have on it now? or will i need to put my car back to stock?

They likely won't warranty it period, because of the type of damage incurred. This is exactly what happened to me as well ...

you? your car got swapped to a manaul you lost all warraunty hear say right then and there.

put your car back to stock, go get it taken in for warraunty. If they fight it and you have a loan out on it, tell the loan company, they'll fight it for you.
Dont take no for an answer, I got documents on how you can fight it.

Well....it got towed to ford becase the tranny is locked up for good. i didnt have a chance to put the stock parts back on it becase it was sitting in the street...but im having my mom talk to them tomorrow becase i mean i spent 1500 dollars extra on that warrenty and on the "contract" it says NOTHING about doing anything aftermarket to your vehicle. but about the loan deal...its financed thro ford so i dont know if that makes a difference or not

ya if they turn ya down on warraunty let ford credit know, they actaully have an option for warraunty disputes when calling the 7000 number...

ok so i have a question that is a bit off topic but not worth starting another post...

i have an extended warrenty from when i bought my car. it cost like $2500 ... is it possible to cash that in? or get it taken off my loan? it would be better if i could just get a check for it so i could spend the money on my car and keep payin on the loan but i was just curious...
redbeardracer
Yes, usually, you can get a refund on the unused portion of the extended warranty. If you're thinking about cancelling it, decide quickly, because it's prorated over time, so each month you wait, your refund may be less.

GOOD news.....the transmission is going to be covered under warrenty...but they are trying to tell me i need a new clutch becase its burnt up. the reason its burn is because i drove all the way back home from shawnee mission parkway and k7 in 4th gear catching almost EVERY light on the way back home. nearly redlining my car, slipping the clutch to keep me from killing the engine. so im trying to get them to put the clutch in for 300.00 instead of the normal 600.00

Sounds like you need to learn to drive. Even being in 4th gear, you don't need to ride the clutch at redline to move the car, and you don't need to speedshift. I thought I taught you how to shift your car?

my car has a 122k on the original clutch and tranny, even with the problems the 98s have with the syncros i have never had a clutch or tranny problem and i drive like a maniac, ask anyone who has gone on a ride with me. you must be doing something real wrong to have that happen.

how do i not know how to drive? i know i messed up my car, but you have no reason to tell me i "dont know how to drive" becase my car was stuck in 4th gear. call me stupid but i didnt know there was a right or wrong way to drive a car thats stuck in 4th gear. stuff happenes and theres no reason to be negative about it

If you meant you'll be quiet, I see no reason why you should be. I broke my car in exactly the same way, because nobody showed me how not to shift. I barely had any training on the ZX2's transaxle, and to be honest, I still don't know how to drive this car. I definitely showed Jake though, and said "if you shift like so, your car will break like such". Well, he shifted like so, and as such ... surprisingly enough, I foretold the future.

Jake, shit happens. It's just frustrating to see this happen to cars, although I do apologize for making your car the example.
