someone made a custom supercharger, but I don't think they have kits you can buy. Turbo is your main choice with da Peon. Never heard of a "hemi head" for a 4 banger.

could it be done.

In a technical sense the head on a DOHC neon is a hemi head.

what motor comes in the first gen? is it the sohc
Godzilla

In the 1st gen neon you could get a DOHC or SOHC auto or manual.

ya spi escort motor is also a hemi head.

the only way that you can have a hemi head on a neon is if there are only two valves per cylinder. so if you have a car with four valves per cylinder there is no way it can be a hemi head. the hemi head has better performance than other head types with two valves per cylinder because of it's shape. however the hemi head can't perform to the potential that a four valve head can run in.
the hemi is famous becuase it had a better design than other two valve heads in it's glory days. certian classes in the nhra and nascar use the hemi head because the cars that they run are restricted to having only two valves per cylinder. there is noting special about a hemi head that you can't produce with a normal head style with four valves. dodge markets the hemi motor to make more money, not because it performs better than other competitors four valve heads with equal power. it's all about the name.

there is no possible way that you can put dual cams in a hemi head. a hemi head also has very distinct differences from other typs of heads that actually DOESN'T allow it have as much power as other head types. the only reason that nascar and the nhra use hemi heads is because they only allow single cams per cylinder. with sohc or suhc the hemi has an advantage over the typical head found on todays engines. if you don't believe me i'll email you a link about the hemi head and it can explain to you what i'm talking about.
Why dont you just post the link here.

sorry i wrote down the wrong info the first time, i was talking about cams. the valves make the difference.
here's the link

So there are 4 valve hemi heads. with a pentroof hemi design. Many of the modern 4 cyl engines have this design

techincally it's not a "hemi" design. it is a variation but not an actual hemi.
it says it right there at the bottom
"One thing that a hemispherical head will never have is four valves per cylinder."

Everything is a variation on something. The photo is clearly marked Pentroof HEMI engine design.

don't take this like i'm bitching to get my point across. it's just not a true hemi unless it's spherical shaped. the pentroof is just that, a pentroof. there is a dividing angle on the head, true hemis have no line, it's one smooth surface all the way around with no angles.

My opinion you are getting stuck on technicalities. Even the almighty 426 hemi wasn't a true hemi head then, if we go that route. Plus this isnt bitching we are discussing.

Technically the 'hemi' is named such because its hemispherical shape cut into the combustion portion of the head....MANY motors have said hemi shape...
There is no use arguing about it because its the way they do it. It is a 'standard' shape
'hemi' is a copywrited name If it wasnt copywrited the word hemi would mean absolutely nothing to anyone because a lot of cars would claim it. The 'hemi' was obviously made famous by chrysler but it is by far not the only company to ever have used the technology.
just my .02
I also think everyone is saying the same thing...just not :-/
