wtf is a DTC inquiry? says : DTC Time Warner- Kansas City
wtf is that? I haven't authorized anyone ANYONE to inquire my credit, in the last 3 yrs I have only applied for a Nebraska Furniture Mart card..nothing else
I also have other stuff
PRM-AT&T WIRELESS
PRM-FINGERHUT/CIT
PRM-FIRST PREMIER BANK PROMO
all these are recent, like within the last few weeks to 3 months ago... I'm freaking out, I haven't inquired jack shit!

I googled DTC - apparently, it's to see what addresses are used with your SSN. Supposedly, it doesn't affect your credit score.

ok sounds good, but why would time warner check me? my stuff is free... I have a account with them but hardly any bill (just ppv stuff, and I pay extra for a 8mb connection)

It's probably standard practice for them to run credit. Most places do this now to see if you're going to pay your bills on time or not. Not necessarily to check your credit score.
Some places will ask for automatic payment to be setup before starting a service if they feel that your credit report shows you are not likely to make regular payments on time like a "responsible" person.
